My name is Shannon Weber and I am proud to serve as your current TAA President. I started in the student transportation industry in 2003 as an administrative assistant to the Director of Transportation in the Florence Unified School District. Previously I was an administrative assistant to school administrators for several years. It was fast paced, detail oriented, and I thought I was pretty good at juggling all duties well. Until, I entered the chaos of student transportation!
My transition to transportation was a bigger adventure than I expected, and to be honest a little overwhelming!(So many moving parts) Since my start in this industry TAA has been an excellent resource and steadfast forum for advice, information, and a village of knowledgeable experts to collaborate with. Since the beginning, and as I have spent time learning all facets of this very important work I have aspired to join the TAA board to truly give back to industry leaders with support and information, and to helps, and support however I can. Sometimes that means being hands and feet, and other times assisting in how to find the answer.
I truly have a passion for people, and am very aware that without our workforce we can’t do our work well. I am committed to taking care of people so they can take care of our kids. I love the student transportation industry, the yellow school bus and all that they represent for safety and positivity in getting kids to and from school and special events.
Thank you for allowing me to support you.
Respectfully,
Shannon Weber
